The Band

Since 1983, Dave Hanlon’s Cookbook has performed throughout Central New York at numerous venues, including clubs, concerts, weddings, and parties. This highly talented and versatile band continues to win over new fans and keep the existing ones coming back with their high-energy Rythm & Blues dance oriented presentation.

Cookbook has shared the stage with many international artists, including: Paquito D’Rivera, Tom Scott, Average White Band, George Benson, Bella Fleck, Charles Earland, The Manhattans, Karen White, Jeff Altman, and many more. Cookbook has released two CD’s. Their first in 1994 entitled “Dig In”, received a lot of airplay. Their latest release “Live from the Dinosaur Bar B Que.”, has set local sales records, and won the prestigious 2004 Sammy Award for best Rhythm & Blues CD. Fronting the band since it’s inception is Sammy winner, vocalist extraordinare, Ava Andrews. On guitar is the stylish Lee Tiffault. The bands newest members, include the great keyboardist Ed Vivenzio, and the funky bass of Jimmie Spivey. Rounding out the band is leader Dave Hanlon on drums and percussion.
