For 28 years now. Cookbook, led by Dave Hanlon’s incredible drumming and Ava Andrews’ soulful vocals, has been entertaining audiences throughout Central New York and beyond. Crossing over between jazz, soul, funk, and R&B, the band serves up a fresh and tasty mix of music that is guaranteed to make you move and groove. Listening to Cookbook and sitting still do not go together. Dave Hanlon has been the premier drummer and bandleader of the Upstate music scene since the 70s. His longtime band, COOKBOOK, led by powerhouse vocalist Ava Andrews, and a preposterously funky rhythm section that burns, is definitely a group worthy of wider recognition on the national stage.
